Esa Pietilä is among the most talented saxophonists and composers in the Finnish jazz scene. Pietilä''s original style and various jazz projects have stabilized his position on the national jazz circuit. Lately he has succesively toured in many countries with his new trio.

He has performed with various groups of his and others, in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Germany, France, Italy, Iceland, The Netherlands, Austria, England, USA, Australia, New Zeeland, Brazil, Cuba, with the names like Ron McClure, Mike Nock, Odean Pope, Mathias Eick, Anders Bergcrantz, Kjartan Valdemarsson, Hilmar Jensson, Jarmo Savolainen, Raoul Björkenheim, UMO jazzorchestra, Espoo Big Band, Roland Vasquez, Erling Kroner, Jimmy Knepper, Roland Wesp and Iro Haarla....
