The story so far... Moscow band jazzlobster formed in 1993, and by 1994 were doing shows all over the city. Their appeal on the underground scene grew steadily due to their intense and energetic stage presence. At first, the music relied on syncopated rhythms and curious ''funk-meets-post-punk'' chord progressions, with the lyrics being somewhat on the stream-of-consciousness side. The line-up continually went through radical changes, including a female vocalist and a jazz saxophone player - and simultaneously the stress of the rapid upheavals in Russian society took its toll - so much so that by 1997 the band was practically defunct! But after recruiting a new guitarist and drummer and bringing their original singer back on board, jazzlobster came full circle, and was reborn in the new millenium as a new and distinctive entity...
