Te Style Records is pleased to announce their sophomore release by recording artist Money for Life, a CD for the streets, titled City Boys. The arrangements of songs can be best described as life knowledge & hood pricipals. City Boys proves that DC rap is not just about high fashion or all the murders one person can commit.
Ahsahnte, 1/3 of Money for Life, produced various tracks that compliment the CD''s tone and subject matter! He says, "I wanted to make something that was all about us! We Cityboys!" The songs are real but not too hardcore." The title of the CD came when Money for Life recorded the lead single, "Where I''m From"!
The CD includes songs that are emotional ranging in topics from child neglect "Watch No Longer" to divorce "Hear My Cries". The goal was to create a CD with songs that inner city or underprivileged people can relate to.
About Money For Life
M.F.L., (Money 4 Life), was started in the summer of 1998 by two songwriters, Lynn Smith Jr. a.k.a. Swann and Alfredo D. Nelson Jr. a.k.a. Ahsahnte. Together they put together a diverse group of artist to form M.F.L. The philosophy behind doing this was, "If one can''t, the other one could". Ahsahnte, the man behind the music, legitimized their company (Te Style Records) in 1999. Since then, there have been a slew of underground albums released by M.F.L. Recognized for their showmanship at "The Spot Open Mics";
M.F.L. has respectively started a buzz in the underground rap community. With the Sony Urban Music Showcase under their belt, 2005 UIMA artists of the year award, and a hit single on the internet charts, the group plans to promote their music and tour in the near future. The group consists of 3 artists, Ahsahnte, Lando, and The Ol'' Boy. This group''s versatility gives them the opportunity to venture into different markets.
