FOLK: Modern Folk, ROCK: Acoustic
Details:
WadiRum is a band that ought not be missed. Their music is at points both raw and refined. Alone, each musician is captivating, and together, their rich, jazzy, and powerfully subtle sound is unlike anything else in Colorado. Stewart Erlich (vocals and guitars) is from the New York city area, where he led several bands to match all the sides of his playing: rock, folk, jazz, and funk. Jill Pilon (vocals and guitars) has been playing in Colorado for two years, seducing audiences with her crowd-hushing, smooth, sultry voice. Jesse Varner (bass) has been involved in the Colorado Jazz scene for years and easily transitions from pocket to pocket in jazz, rock and folk genres. Lisa Haney (cello) has played with national acts such as Hall and Oates, Richard Barone, and Rasputina. Her diverse sounds and rich tones add darkness and depth to already lush compositions. WadiRum is not the average bar band or singer-songwriter group. They weave webs of melody and harmony that are enchanting audiences all over Colorado. WadiRum has been building a devoted following in Denver, Boulder, Fort Collins and elsewhere in Colorado and have been featured live on KGNU and KBFR in Boulder and KFRC in Fort Collins. WadiRum is hailed by Westword Magazine as "well worth listening to," and by Riff Magazine as "unique and spell-bounding," and has been making lasting impressions at some of the finest acoustic venues in Colorado.
