24 Guinness
This is a song of drunken lust. During the summer of 1998, a few buddies and I toured around Western Europe. We ended up in an Irish bar in Barcelona, Spain...go figure. One of the traveling mob was lusting after a tall, gorgeous, redheaded bartender. After a few Guinness he asked her, “What will it take for you to go home with me tonight?” Her response, “Drink 24 Guinness.”

Sugar
Family and friends have been camping in the Sierra Nevada''s for years. One place we frequent after a long day of fishing is a bar in Kennedy Meadows. One night while my cousin and I were supporting the local economy, my cousin was approached by one hell of a mountain woman. She said, “You’re too cute not to be dancing sugar!” After reluctantly agreeing to dance, he was manhandled on the dance floor.

All Alone
I was in my room playing a lick over and over trying to think of some lyrics. My roommate at the time walked into mine and gave me lyrics to this tune. He wrote them in a matter of minutes, reflecting on a defunct relationship.

Sunshine
This might be the first song I ever wrote. I was feeling down because of rejection by a distant flame who used to refer to me as “Sunshine.”

Hilton on the Hill
One summer I lived in a single-wide trailer in Lakeview, Oregon. It was the ranch hands house, which hadn''t been occupied for awhile. Everyday when I got home I vacuumed bugs off the ceiling. I actually enjoyed my stay there. It was where I wrote a good number of songs. The owners called it the Hilton on the Hill becuase it was on a little knoll outside there house. When the wind blew my sheets moved, but hey the rent was right.

Drinker’s Love Song
I was thinking about a recent business trip to the United Kingdom and Ireland. It was a whirlwind tour of the countries. The days were filled with meetings, traveling and dinners. I didn''t take in many sights but sure got my fill of the local beverages.

Heart Sing
This song was written for a friends wedding. I was living in Lakeview Oregon at the time. I sat down in the middle of the room thinking how to write the song. After awhile, I looked out the window of my single-wide trailer at the lush green mountains and started writing.

Same Old Faces
After quitting my job in San Francisco, I drove around and visited friends and family all over the Pacific Northwest. While having a drink in a bar with a friend in Portland, I thought about all the drinking establishments I had visited. It seems like every bar or tavern had the same elements. The drink special that day: Whiskey Sour for $3.75.
