Noah Glenn is a 20 year old musician and student of recording technology living in Memphis, TN. With songwriting based in the 60’s pop tradition of The Beach Boys, The Zombies, and The Kinks, but music that explores a range of instruments, time-signatures, and styles, Noah creates a blend of musical genres which somehow manages to be wildly experimental and undeniably catchy all at once. Due to his ability to utilize a vast array of instruments, he has been described as “a self contained musical entity,” and is creating music that is as original as only the product of a single individual could be. The result is “quirky, and exciting music that has nothing to hide.” With creative melodies and vocal harmony and blended musical ideas as his palette, it is difficult to place Noah into any specific genre, but the spirit of his music has drawn comparisons to Beck, Sufjan Stevens, and Brian Wilson.
Noah Glenn has released two albums, 2005’s More Than Machinery, as a limited release, and 2006’s Lafayette & Luxia. Working as both the recording engineer and artist he has broken down a wall that allows him to create music unhindered. There are no rules; there are no expectations. Anything goes. Having found widespread acceptance in his hometown of North Little Rock, AR and current home in Memphis, Noah is poised to bring his music to people everywhere. His exciting live shows, consisting of just one man surrounded on all sides by musical instruments, creating loops live on the spot, “has found a way to translate his recordings, not note for note in full orchestration, but feeling for feeling with a stripped down and intimate retelling of his music.” Each show is different from the last, and they often leave you wondering “how did he made that one crazy noise?” Whether hearing his music live or as a recording, Noah Glenn’s music leaves you feeling elevated and joyful, like meeting someone new who instantly feels like an old friend.
