Artist biography: "This vision has been a life''s work," says André P. Davis, Jr., founder and CEO of the urban gospel music label. "We began as Heavenly Inspired Songs Publishing in 1995, evolving into Heavenly Inspired Songs Records in 1997. The future is looking bright with the launch of LoC Records in 2002."
Drizzé, as his friends affectionately call him, embarked on his music career at a young age. Born in Hampton, Virginia, Drizzé realized his love for singing and music at the age of 5. By age 16, Drizzé was playing a number of instruments and began penning lyrics to his first songs.
Remaining in his hometown area, Drizzé, a ''93 graduate of Norfolk State University performed in numerous area talent showcases and worked along some of the industry''s noted professionals. He has sung with John P. Kee and the New Life Community Choir and worked with Pick Conley of the R&B Group Surface. His studios credits include working with Classic Black (Michigan), Stanky Jank Productions (Mississippi), as well as Teddy Riley''s Life of Riley studio. "Those opportunities afforded me the chance to learn, grow and perfect my craft," reflects Drizzé. "I''ve learned a lot about the music business; everything from the art to management."
Drizzé is a man with vision and purpose. As one of the Ministers of Music at his home church - The Richmond Christian Center in Richmond, Virginia, Drizzé continued to polish his skills. "It is under the teaching of my pastor, Steve S. Parson, Sr., that I learned the purpose of my gift. My desire is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ; reconciling people back to God."
While his music transcends all age ranges. Drizzé focuses on the young people. "I want the young people to know that they can live in prosperity without compromising their integrity or Christian character."
The musical style of Drizzé is unique in its own right. He calls his blend of rich, soulful vocals and grooving R&B/ jazz music, "GossnBlu;" an amalgamation of gospel, inspirational and rhythm and blues. It is with this style that Drizzé, seeks to place his brand on the music industry.
