Details:
This Tucson native/Los Angeles transplant has everything it takes to make and ensure a long career. The production on her 2nd full-length "Is It Safe?" is top notch accompanied by crisp, clear vocal harmonies and songwriting that''s both introspective and heartfelt. Dina has a voice is both angelic and edgy and without a doubt powerful. From the opening track "Masquerade" the rock guitar holds you in place while the lyrics and rhythms imbed themselves in your memory.

Listening to Dina D''Alessandro may make you wonder why you haven''t heard her all over the radio yet. She writes smart songs, and sings them in a beautifully ethereal voice, and should have been on many magazine covers and spanning the radio dial by now.

-Bio
Dina D''Alessandro launched her music career with a self-booked tour of England. Five months in the old country playing pubs and bars like the Halfmoon Putney and The Grey Horse, where bands like the Stones and The Who got their start, left her with drive, determination and a sense of history that propelled her back to the States and into the arms of the LA music scene. In 2003, Dina released her self-produced debut "Sweetness and Decency" and began performing constantly, first locally and then up and down the west coast and as far east as Austin Texas. Influenced by Brit bands from the 80''s and 90''s like The Cure, The Psychedelic Furs, Catherine Wheel and Adorable, Dina''s music is laced with layers of elaborately delayed guitar sounds, melodic but aggressive bass and sometimes odd metered rhythm. Comparisons of her music range from modern alternative rock bands like the Killers, Interpol and Coldplay while her voice has been compared to female artists like Amy Lee of Evanescence and Sarah McLachlin. Regardless of the sonic comparisons, it''s Dina''s songwriting that allows her to stand out in the crowd.

Press/ Events

Songs from her debut album were featured on such shows as MTV''s "The Real World" and NBC''s "Scrubs." Dina has been featured in several magazines and newspapers including the nationally distributed New York based magazine Women Who Rock, Bust Magazine, The Albuquerque Journal and the front page of The Portales News during the presidential election... not Arafat, not Bush or Kerry but Dina. On August 9th 2005, Dina performed the national anthem at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles to rave reviews from the staff and Dodger fans alike (strange but true). Last year, Dina performed at over 20 colleges and universities as well as countless clubs. With the release of her second album "Is It Safe?" on LA based Indie label Worker Ants Music, public relations, booking and radio are poised to strike, leaving no doubt that most of America will have heard Dina D''Alessandro by the end of 2006.
