Dan Rowley is a singer songwriter from the small town of Gladwin, Michigan where he was born and raised. His heartfelt original compositions speak to his upbringing and his deep love of God and Country.
Dan has opened for various country artists such as Marty Stewart, “Whisperin” Bill Anderson, David Frizzell and Confederate Railroad to name a few.
His song “The Lady in the Harbor” tugs at the patriotic heartstrings of everyone who hears it and never fails to bring a standing ovation when he performs it live with the band, regardless of the age of the audience.
Dan and his wife Peggy have been married for over 32 years and have 3 adult sons, 2 daughter in laws and 3 grandchildren. They put a great emphasis on the importance of family and are very close with all their kids, spouses and grandkids.
Dan operates his own electrical construction and maintenance business which consumes much of his time. He loves the mountains and he and Peggy travel to the Rockies as often as possible to vacation, and to hunt and fish.
Dan started playing the guitar when he was quite young and has been hearing different melodies in his head and putting words to them for a long time. He has written several gospel songs which he hopes to publish, along with some more country songs in the near future.
The second song on Dan’s CD, “Clotheslines and Gardens”, is a tribute to his mom who passed away several years ago. “Little Boy Blue” is a song that anyone who has raised kids and watched them grow up and leave the nest can relate to. “Jack Spratt” is a Texas shuffle type of song that displays Dan’s sense of humor and always brings a smile and a laugh to those who hear it.
Dan says that his plans for the future are to slow down and spend more time finishing and recording more songs.
