Details:
Eddie Fields comes at you raw and in person with the release of his first solo album "UP LATE". A smooth milkshake of funk, fusion, and jazz for even the most critical pallette, "Up Late" serves up a masterful touch of straight forward, in your face grooves.
The youngest of seven children, Eddie was born with the inability to see, but that did not stop his two extremely soulful parents from recognizing their son''s hidden and incredible talent. Eddie''s father, a pastor at the family''s church, introduced him to a wide range of music from an early age where Eddie began to shape his unique style and flavor. Eddie''s parents sent him to the prestigious Florida School for the Deaf and Blind in Saint Augustine, Florida where he was trained by some of the top music instructors in the country. Soon thereafter, his technical proficiency caught up with his raw, untapped ideas, and the rest is history. Since then, Eddie has been honing his "sound" and creating some of the most cutting edge music of the times.
Eddie performs, records, and produces all of his material himself at his home studio in Daytona Beach, Florida. Sticking to one strict rule, "If it''s not raw and from the soul, it ain''t worth puttin'' on wax".
Besides his own projects, Eddie works a great deal with other local musicians and acts. Bringing fresh and exciting ideas to any project he is a part of. In doing this, Eddie gets to pursue one of his most enjoyable pastimes, producing.
Some of Eddie''s most influencial mentors include, Chick Corea, Billy Cobam, and John Mclaughlin, but he constantly fills his mind with a wide variety of music on a daily basis. Keeping to the ideal that music is a constant jam session no matter if you''re playing it, or listening to it.
With "Up Late" under his belt, Eddie is currently working on another album that will be released very soon, so enjoy the music and keep an eye out for the up and coming material to post on CDBaby.
