Details:
I began writing songs at age 17 (30+ years ago), but only recently began instrumenting and recording them. Much useful advice and encouragement from my friends at iCompositions (and elsewhere) led me to hire some musicians and studio time to polish them up further. Some of those friendly influences who deserve my thanks include: Shawn Schaefer and Toni Hoberecht, Jim Wade, Greg Jones, Ryan Salisbury, Barney Day, Will and Seth, Lorna and Amity, of course Bill, and many others.

For this album, I am grateful to William Glosup, who is responsible for the arrangements. Also thanks to Brother Machine for the arrangement of "Walk On Me." Seth Gibbs lovingly engineered each track, with the assistance of William Glosup. Here is some background to the songs:

Polyester Heads: A young rebel lashes out at society. Influenced by listening to punk rock and attending frat parties in the early 80''s.
Unsafe At Any Speed: Surf-rock song inspired by a girl who actually drove a Corvair. I composed the song during the 3-mile walk home from the restaurant where we worked.
The Oyster Song: The true story of a young woman and man enjoying first love, until disaster struck---in the form of a diseased oyster. As told by Linda. I am grateful to Barney Day (aka ponkey) who allowed me to use his highly versatile music.
Walk On Me: Tongue-in-cheek description of a one-sided relationship.
Sociopath: Written while I studied for a sociology exam. Originally in punk fashion, slowed here for the aging listener.
Love On: A sweet number about getting back together with someone (wishful thinking!)
Julie X Nine: Whiny pop song about a failed romance.
Giant Squid: A metaphor for loss of innocence. Written in the car coming home from work while hearing a radio piece about the first photo of a living giant squid.
Cheekin Yr Medz: For Karmin, who was leaving the company where we worked. Consists of a list of "fringe benefits" which were just not enough to hold her there.
Applications Blues: A cautionary tale for those approaching high school graduation.
Doggy Blues: Bonus! For this rough recording, all tracks besides vocals were created with GarageBand.
