The Secret Cinema Band are proud to release their debut album "Through a cathode, darkly"
The 13 track album you are about to hear only casually indicates the band''s influences and their collective pursuit of innovation and oddness.
There are various subject matters and themes running through this album which vary from a conversation held on a particularly rainy day between a boy and his imaginary friend and the daunting life which follows after leaving his three year old creator, to a couple''s descent into the glue sniffing scene in London.
These scenes play out through the group''s unique sonic identity.
The use of electric violin and guitar to replace the traditional bass as well as the fluent use of odd time metres help create unusual soundscapes littered with home-made noises and effects created by hand-made circuit bending devices, household furniture and other paraphernalia.
All of this comes together to create 13 windows into an alternate world of intrigue, adventure and sorrow.
