Why This World Sucks

In the latter half of the eighties, the world''s political and economic scenery underwent severe transformations that revoked several "conquests" of the 1960s and 70s. With the end of the Cold War, a new (worse) world order has been established.

The dumbfounded western public have witnessed the return of repressive sexual morals based on the controversial origin and spread of a new, fatal, sexual disease; the steady rise of unemployment, misery, religious fanaticism, superstition and every form of ignorance; the explosion of the amount of available information, followed by a serious shortage of useful information.

Little by little, immense retrogression was brought at all levels. Always with the help of the subliminal hand of media, controlled by very sick people. pleasure has become futile, and a younger generation was tricked into acting the old. Even worse, it was all called "modernity", and supposed to be for our own good.

Why Today''s Music Sucks

In the nineties, Rock and Roll and Heavy Metal in particular, symbols of teenage dreams and utopias, were utterly stripped of their essence (almost in the same way the 1960s and 70s'' generations were systematised by the media, by the way). Sterile clones were substituted for them, with the overthrow of Heavy Music''s basic premise: the sacrosanct fire of creativity. Countless once bright furnaces of great and powerful music were put out - as well as the fire in their fans'' brains - apparently without any explanation.

There came a whole generation of technically perfect musicians, but without any feeling; supposed to be erudite, but without any real content. Precision and notes-per-second took the place of attitude and good taste. The quality of the music was not any more a rare combination of ability and inventiveness. It now turned into a style industry, and therefore, the feeling died.

The quality of music recording was turned into a question of bad standards, and, as stupid as it stands, suddenly "digital" and "better sound" became synonyms. Simultaneously, as with modern art in general, mediocrity was elevated to the category of genius, and machine-made music became the ultimate fashion. While pain became an Aesthetic issue. Cretinous mixing of different styles and dumb low tuning became a rule. Now they sell as Metal indistinctive, repetitive material, in a world where every idiot can release a stupid CD not to be listened to. How idiotic of them, all of them!

The men of greed and power have finally triumphed. As a reflection of the surrounding world, a tissue of lies became the (only) truth, and nowadays the Earth spins backwards, so to speak.

I don''t belive in a world where the feeling of the "music" is dead, and I don''t believe in a "god" that doesn''t drink beer nor bang his fucking head. This sick world order must be exposed. Don''t let them inside your mind.

Why Do We Make Good Records

Unexpectedly (or not?), some old representatives with memories of a more authentic world have met some youngsters with sharp instincts, and together they keep a "resistance". They (we) remain living with the old spirit (and redescovering it in new forms, at times) and keeping it against the moral repression, the hipocritical liberalism, the war of information, and the mediocrity of merely surviving. It is a hard road, but for those who have once tasted freedom, the only way out is through.

APOKALYPTIC RAIDS stands against the "only" truths, the undisputable dogmata, all stupidity beautifully packaged, and all ignorance beatifully packaged as well-stabilished concepts. APOKALYPTIC RAIDS supports the utopias, the dreams, spontaneity, the destruction that also constructs, Nietzsche’s Will to Power, and the true-to-the-marrow spirit of HEAVY METAL.

Once it was said "See the banging heads awaken to their dreams"... APOKALYPTIC RAIDS means fans of Heavy Metal playing what we feel.

During the recording of this album, man and machine were put to the extreme. It surely has mistakes. But it is our most feverish effort put into our belief in Heavy Music and Attitude. Time (and YOU) will be the judge and jury of our mistakes and accomplishments. Enjoy it!

Generally, the "satanic" imagery have been always associated with Heavy Rock. It couldn’t be different. In occidental mythology, Satan is associated with rebellion, independence, transgression, the cult of oneself and endless freedom. We want to taste the heat of life here and now, we don’t want any ascetic heaven in an unlikely other life.

Be like us: be yourself. If "Hell" is what awaits us, we are always Ready To Go, partying along the way! And if the world tries to forget the Heavy Metal way of life, it will only come back with a vengeance - in every big city where you’ll find an angry, sick and tired youth. We are young and angry, we are sick and tired.

We are Heavy. And we are Metal.
We are and we will always be THE RETURN......
THE RETURN OF THE SATANIC RITES.
