the finn rigginses are a family. a family of humans bent on creating shiny objects and sounds to play with. to inspire. to ignite the senses and to put bodies in motion.
this is the immediate family:
Cam Bouiss - drums, steel drum, drum pad, mouth guitar, misc.
Eric Gilbert - keys, synths, organ, accordian, guitar, sampler, vox, misc.
Lisa Simpson - guitars, keys, casio beats, vox, misc.
Bouiss and Gilbert have been playing together in various bands since just prior to the inception of this millenium. bands with names like Oracle Shack, Bunnycuss, Milo Duke & There''s a Storm Brewin Bitches and its Name is Us, The Transients, etc. Simpson has been involved primarily in her solo act, with occasional collaborations with the aforementioned and others. She was/is a member of Bunnycuss as well. All of these bands were/are active in and around Moscow, ID.
In the summer of 2006, the three decided to go on an isolation retreat in the mountains of South Central Idaho in the heart of the beautiful Sun Valley. Currently that is where they reside, in what they like to refer to as their helibase, a rather quaint cottage in the town of Hailey, where they practice, write, record, create and further prepare their ''68 Gillig touring machine for the upcoming adventures that await them.
This "air travelers ep" is an appetizer created throughout 2006 both in Moscow and in Hailey. It is 28 minutes of goodness and acts as kindling for what''s to come. Its been officially released on their own "moon is not smooth records" a DIY effort featuring handmade cases made from re-used cereal boxes. Each case is individually spray painted so no two are exactly alike. They feature several different color schemes. Also included is a rotating cast of insert cards. The initial release featured a 15 set limited edition no longer being printed. Currently, there are atleast 25 different cards in rotation with new ones being added regularly.
There are two special guests on this EP, both of which are bass players. Troy Robey plays upright bass on Snowglobe, and Ryan "gibs" Gibler plays electric bass on Icy Sparks.
