Dan, you have cancer and Dan your cancer is back. I have heard both of these things said to me in the last 4 years and I''m only 19 years old. I hope that this is something that I don''t share with anyone else on this web site.
What I feel that I do share with the people on this web site is my love for music. I love to listen to it, I love to play it and I love the experience that I have had in the last year of recording songs in Nashville. It was amazing.
In August of 2004 I was diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML). I had to have 3 separate rounds of chemotherapy and with the recovery time it took a whole year to get my life back on track.
After my recovery I finished high school and became a freshmen at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana studying Bible and Christian Ministry. I felt great and was as good as new.
I started playing with a local band in my home town and we played festivals and weddings in our area. It was great. Once the band broke up I decided to record a demo and see if I could get someone to show interest in my singing. I sent one of the demos to Capital Management Group in Nashville and shortly after that I got a call from Robert Metzgar from Capital Management. We met in Nashville and he signed me to record a 12 tract CD for him. It was one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I recorded at Chelsea Studio in Nashville, for Platinum Plus Records.
I couldn''t wait for the CDs to arrive. It was a dream come true. About a month before the CDs came I was rediagnosed with AML. Treatment this time will require more chemotherapy, a bone marrow transplant and months and months of recovery. My dreams seemed to just disappear. I did receive my CDs and I started selling them the best that I could. I was not healthy enough or strong enough to go out and perform my songs so I looked for alternatives.
I was told about CD Baby and I hope it will help me to showcase my music. I am so excited about the CD and I know how good it is. I think it''s as much fun to listen to as it was to record. I hope you will listen to the sound clips and enjoy it too.
