Her music is reminiscent of John Mellencamp, Tom Petty, and at times has a southern rock sound and a other times a jazzy/bluesy sound. She also personally likes metal guitars and alternative rock and these sounds she tries to bring in acoustically. She is a skilled rhythm guitar and mandolin player.
She relates to the working class audience because she is among them as a registered nurse, married to a hard-working truck driver/mechanic.
