Our family has been through some difficult challenges over the past several years. God''s gift of music has touched us in so many ways, allowing us to remain joyful in spite of all that has happened. This spring [2008] we decided to record some of the music that has kept us dancing through our trials. This is a collection of old-time music and modern music with an old-time groove. We hope as you listen, you will be inspired to get up and dance.
Recorded at Signature Sound Studios in Wichita, KS February 24-25, 2008 by Mark Mazur. Thank you for listening to our music and coming to our concerts. We hope this CD is a blessing to you.

Scenic Roots'' Biography:
Bluegrass? Folk? Old-time? Celtic? Gospel? Scenic Roots is a bit of each. They will take you on a scenic journey as they weave many musical influences together to create a unique blend of acoustic music. They will take you back in time by sharing songs from a simpler day when people used to gather on front porches to pick and sing together.
Scenic Roots is a sister duo from Concordia, Kansas, that has been performing together for more than ten years. [Note: at the time of this recording, they were joined by their father, Doug, on guitar, mandolin, and vocals. He has since stopped touring with them due to his own work schedule, but the girls still enjoy playing with him whenever they can.] Erin plays mountain dulcimer and piano, Amber plays fiddle and clawhammer banjo, and both women sing. Their music is a blend of old-time mountain melodies, bluegrass drive, and down-home humor. Erin and Amber both graduated from South Plains College''s prestigious bluegrass music program in May 2010.
