My name is Sean Treacy, I am from Tallow Co. Waterford living in Cork City the past thirty years. I have travelled extensively abroad, I busked quite a bitand played in country bands in my early years of playing and then joined a band in London, an Irish ballad group called Beggars Bush. We played all the big Irish venues and clubs.
It was in this band I developed a taste for Irish music as I began to feel the brilliant beats of Irish music. The great Irish ballads of the Dubliners, The Furies, Moving Hearts and the brilliant Irish legend Christy Moore himself and many others as well. It was the era when our folk and ballads were very prominent as part of our culture.
Since then I have played my style of these songs handed down to me, in New York, venues around Ireland and played in Europe , playing solo and with various bands, I am a very experienced live performer recording artist now and a professionally trained singer.
I have very diverse music influences from trad Irish music, country and ballads. As well as singing my own music I sing songs from Johnny Cash, Beatles, Eagles, Bob Dylan, Christy Moore and many more in my live performance. I started playing guitar and writing songs at an early age. I play rhythm guitar, lead guitar, banjo, mandolin, harmonica, bass guitar, and I am learning piano.
