Details:
This CD is a collaboration of the Kingpins paying homage to the old school bands of the 50''s and 60''s while displaying a style of music that is only heard from the Kingpins. The Kingpins have slowly created a style of music that has been cultivated from past recording experiences and musical influences that have landed their unique style of music which seamlessly blends Zydeco, Rock, Up Beat Party/Dance Music, Cajun & Swamp Pop styles alongside Urban Club/Party Style Music that not many bands have tried or attempted to tackle. The band is no stranger to criticism and after several risky CD''s pushing the envelope of the "local styles of music" it seems that the band has broken the barriers of what can be played with an "Accordion band" and what subjects can be sung about.

With this "Old School" project the Kingpins wanted to do something different, stepping away from writing and just do some arranging of their personal old favorites. This time they just simply went into the studio to cut up and have some fun with several old songs and the end result is pure old school dance energy that is filled with fun and excitement which is a Kingpin Trait!

In paying homage to the old songs the band felt the need to do it true old school fashion and went the extra mile by recording with all "old school" vintage gear ranging from Ampex, Grommes, Gates Console, Frazier, Neumann U47, Telefunken Elam 250, RCA Ribbon Mics, Old Sony Mics and for guitar an old restored brown face 1960 Fender Super Amp. All the gear used for tracking was from the 1950’s and 1960’s, giving it that soulful sound that the Kingpins appreciate and enjoyed recreating.
