Few artists are blessed with the whole package, but there’s one who comes to mind, “Tereasa B.” She’s funny, cute, sexy, and man can she blow (sing, I mean). With such an innocent presence, she takes the stage and rips it apart with style, essence and soul. Bitten by the performing bug at a very young age, she makes working the stage look sooooo easy.
Since she could walk, she’s been humming like a bird. Like many soul singers, Tereasa B sang in the church choir as a young girl growing up. As one of the main lead singers of the youth church choir, Tereasa was following in her late mother, Gloria Betts’, footsteps. Oh yeah, by the way, mom was nicknamed “Tweet” by family and friends. I guess we can clearly understand the logic behind the name.
Tereasa B was introduced to her mother and the rest of the world on August 19, 1976. Born the youngest of two brothers and one sister, she was quite “The Baby,” also known as “A Brat.” Being the only one of her three siblings to pursue a career in singing and performing, she definitely has their love and support to keep her going.
Tereasa has had the pleasure of working with many different artists that range from “The Cash Money Millionaires” to “The No Limit Soldiers.” She’s shared the stage with artists like New Orleans own Grammy Award Winner, Ms. Irma Thomas, Phillip Manuel, Germaine Bazzle, Leah Chase, Ceasar Elloie, Michael Ward, Luther Kent, Tony Owens, Johnny Vindigni, Lawrence (Larry) Sieberth (pianist, composer, and arranger), Danon Smith, Gina Brown, Kermit Ruffin, Marva Wright and many more. She’s also had the honor and pleasure of performing with none other than “Mr. Earl Turner.”
Tereasa is no stranger to the big stage. She recently “ripped up” the “New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival 2010” stage, giving a show stopping performance. We can say the same for “The House of Blues.” She’s traveled all over the U.S., performing on many different stages with many different artists, such as divas like Miss Patti Austin. She’s also had the honor and pleasure of opening in concert for Mr. Johnny Gill himself.
When it comes to entertaining, Tereasa B. can’t stop, and she won’t stop giving it all she’s got.
