Nexus, the latest recording by Yuko "Tsugumi" Kimura, is, she announces proudly, "my tribute to Michael Jackson - his great achievements, his motivation to change us and our earth.
As she did on her 2009 debut release, A Beautiful Friendship, Yuko once again chosen as her accomplished collaborators pianist Roberta Piket, bassist Cameron Brown, and drummer Gene Jackson who since 2006 Yuko has worked with, whenever she performs in New York. As always, they each provide both sensitive support behind her vocals and add strong solo statements of their own.
This time, for her second CD, Yuko has added something new, a pair of original songs inspired by Michael Jackson, "Angel of Rhythm" and the title track of "Nexus".
