Joerg Alfter was born near Bonn/West Germany in December 1966. Following in his fathers footsteps, he started as a classical trumpet player at the age of 7, and soon expanded into playing the piano when he was 14.
Joerg started several fusion band projects beginning in 1986 which lead him to his first studio work in 1988 as both a keyboard player and singer. Soon he became one of the most sought after studio players in West Germany.
He also started to record his own songs and compositions in his very first "home" studio, containing an 8-track/ 1/2" recorder..). Recording and engineering became more and more one of Joerg''s fortes.
In 1993 he installed one of the very first Pro Tools Systems (NuBus, ProToolsII) in Germany, and immediatly knew that DAW recording systems in combination with analog gear will be the future in music production. ProTools is Joerg''s main recording platform ever since, never the less, he is thankful for the early opportunities to learn analog audio recording & mixing from the scratch...
While working in some of the top recording and producing locations like Maarweg (EMI), Homestudios (Hamburg), Juergen Koppers Studios, and many more, Joerg started producing and composing for and with several national and international artists, also in tandem with singer and songwriter Juergen Hallfell (Joshua) for their "Urgent Music" Project.
In 2002 the writer duo signed a publishing contract with one of the biggest independend publishing companies, Chrysalis/Global Chrysalis Music. One year later the first song was placed on a 5 time platinum record for the spanish version of "American Idol", called Opercion Triunfo. The song "Navidad Sin Ti" (Longing for christmas), performed by Tony Santos & Miguel Angel Silva, was released on the christmas sampler "La fuerza de la vida" in Spain, Portugal and South America.
A second titel, "Tu Volveras", performed by Operacion Triunfo contestant Naim Thomas, has also been written and arranged by writer-duo Joerg Alfter/ Juergen Hallfell Joerg’s songs were placed on several GOLD and PLATINUM records, along with releases in Germany, Spain, Scandinavia, the UK, Canada and Japan.
As a keyboardist, arranger and singer, Joerg''s work can be heard on many international productions throughout the last 15 years.
Since 2007 Joerg lives in the USA.
