Details:
This album has the quirkiness of Indie, the acoustic elements of Folk, and the catchy melodies of Pop music.

If Regina Spektor and Feist had a love child that was raised by KT Tunstall, it would be Heather Renee. Her debut album, Indie Folk-Pop, speaks to fans of the Anti-Folk scene. The album starts with a thought provoking song about Reincarnation, angelic strings and whispering vocals reminiscent of singer/songwriter Mirah’s cinematic arrangements and ends with a raw acoustic two note song played on a broken child sized guitar.

Heather Renee is no stranger to the music scene. She has been performing in the DC area for over ten years, but true to her perfectionist ways, never released an official album. In 2007, she tested the waters with a five song EP entitled “Pretty Prison.”

A music review by On Tap Magazine, wrote:

"Heather Renee’s unique approach to music is a welcome variation to the often stale, repetitious world of singer-songwriters."

In 2008 she recorded, produced, and released a new song every week for the entire year. This challenge helped her experiment with her sound and break free from her obsessive tendencies. Indie Folk-Pop is her first official full-length album. It is comprised of fifteen fan favorites, some from the Song a Week challenge, Pretty Prison EP, and some newly recorded. It is her best work to date.

Heather Renee has begun touring to promote her new album which is scheduled to drop at her album release party at Epicure Café in Fairfax, VA 2/26/2011 at 8:00 p.m. Epicure Café is an adorable new, family-owned restaurant, art gallery, and music venue that has been helping to revive the indie art and music scene in the DC metro area. Not only does it feature local artwork on its walls and music from homegrown talent, it offers incredible food as well as great beer and wine options.

Heather Renee performs weekly in venues along the East Coast. Additional tour dates are available on her website at https://www.tradebit.com.
