MP3 Asher Quinn (Asha) - Concert of Angels
Magical, evocative, adventurous new-age instrumental classic; timeless, beautiful and mythic. Improvised piano, thrillingly orchestrated to create a very visual narrative. Almost chivalric at times, with hints of medieval pilgrimage.

The best selling of all of Asher''s new-age albums, this timeless masterpiece is actually almost exclusively improvised, and took just 3 days to record and master… from start to finish, at a cost of £300! There is a magical alchemy to this recording, reflected even in the iconic album cover.
The spontaneous piano pieces were recorded on the drawing room grand piano of classical guitarist, footballing and cricketing friend Anthony Phillips, founder member of Genesis and producer of Asher''s first 3 albums, and then orchestrated at the studio of friend and new-age colleague Phil Thornton.
The opening track ''Santiago'' refers to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain, journey''s end for an ancient pilgrimage route full of mythic, spiritual significance, and has a great sense of wonder and adventure in the unfolding melodies. ''Lionel''s song'' was played for his dying Godfather, and is spine-tinglingly emotive. Remarkably, the out-take of just the instrumentation on its own, shorn of the piano, becomes a substantial and ethereal track in its own right, called ''Angels tending''. ''Star child'' and the popular ''Sailing on the silk blue sea'' make up the five tracks.
The music sounds almost as if it were ''channelled'' rather than simply played, as if there were some guiding higher hand involved, and this transcendent quality is what gives the music its unique alchemy.
