Dirty Maria exploded into Toronto’s music scene in early 2004, when the four members decided to establish the first Latin alternative rock band in the city. Since then, band members Alex,Saul, Marino and Kevin and have continued to apply their passion and musical talents to create a sexy and fun blend of traditional Latin American rhythms with influences of jazz, funk and rock. Their unique compositions consist of lyrics in Spanish and English, covering a variety of topics ranging from comical life situations, to politics, to sentimental moments. The boys of Dirty Maria come from different parts of Latin America, and each has a unique history of musical experience, contributing to the band’s original and tight sound.
