MP3 George Ozier - A Little Faith

Soft rock

16 MP3 Songs
EASY LISTENING: Soft Rock, ROCK: Acoustic

Details:
George Ozier grew up in the small town of Greenup, Illinois, halfway between Memphis and Chicago. One of twelve kids, George got into music at an early age. By the time he got out of high school, he already knew his way around a half-dozen instruments, and he had soaked up a wide range of “classic rock” (back when it was just called “rock”) as well as the more introspective singer-songwriters of the era. He spent most of the next decade walking the earth, including a hitch in the military and a hitch as a married man (he didn’t get a medal for either one). The whole time, he kept on paying his dues in a succession of bar bands and practicing his craft as a songwriter. Making his way back to Greenup, George hooked up with some old buddies and started the Doctor Wu Rock & Soul Revue, an eight-piece rhythm & blues show band. He spent the next ten years belting out four sets a night of classic Stax and Motown, traveling as far a Puerto Rico and Baltimore and backing up greats like Sam Moore and the Shirelles.
In 2006, George finally got down to business with a long-overdue project---A Little Faith, his first solo album, featuring original songs, some representative cover tunes, and even some instrumentals. A Little Faith calls to mind other great Midwestern rockers like John Mellencamp, Bob Seeger, and John Hiatt, mixing roots-rock with Memphis soul and country influences. In a world where popular music is a corporate product, written by committee and refined by computer, George Ozier is the genuine article, putting sweat and soul into every song he sings.
