In the late ''60s he starred in the Groups Venus and Formula 5. In the early ''70s, Beto Mello has served in several Bands, one of them was the group Cactus, which has partnered with Reinaldo (now drummer from Chiclete com Banana), another was the band Muse (ex Bamda Mel) and at the end of 70 years, he served as percussionist with the electric trio Armandinho, Dodo and Osmar.
In 1981, the band Chiclete com Banana released his first album "Paste the East" who hit the song Maravilha Coisa Louca by Beto Mello.
Seeking autonomy Music, in 83, produced, arranged and directed, with his partner Yonsen Maia the Maravilha Coisa Louca in the auditorium of Central Library from Barris, which were accompanied by great musicians such as Toinho Batera (now with Ivete Sangalo), Zé de Henrique (ex-Cheiro de Amor) and Renato Fechine (today, composer active here in the Bahia).
At 84, Beto and Yonsen produced their second show held in the Teatro Solar Boa Vista and with the monitoring of the newly formed band Pimenta de Cheiro, today, Cheiro de Amor in that occasion Toinho, Zé de Henrique, Vincente Sales, guitar and Marinho on bass. This show was acclaimed by the public and brought the affection and respect in the music business for Beto Mello, since the show was watched by the group Chiclete com Banana, Carlinhos Brown, Luiz Caldas and the whole band Acordes Verdes and many other local artists.
The year 1987 provided the Beto Mello recording the album "Gente da Terra Bahia", a collection of new composers. That Show presented Armandinho, Dodo and Osmar and Cheiro de Amor. Beto Mello, attended gigs Chiclete com Banana, Luiz Caldas, Banda Mel and many other artists.
Beto did touring into Bahia, but is already back to the recordings. Just listen to his promotional CD to feel the power of this Album.
