The Van gogh letters project features original compositions that use the writings of Vincent Van Gogh to his brother, Theo as inspiration
The suite contains an unusual instrumentation; oboe, english horn, bass clarinet, played by Charles Pillow, the keyboards of Jim Ridl, and the accordion of Gary Versace.
Using a blend of composition and improvisation, ambient synth sounds, and electronica, it is sometimes difficult to tell which is improvised and which is written.
