Thou Mayest.
A reference to the classic novel by John Steinbeck, East of Eden. It is an idea that everyone may have the right to choose freely but we do not always choose to do so. The simple discovery of our own free will and the power our decisions have on our future allows us to take control of our lives, to live them fully and to create our own destiny.
A step forward, but unmistakable the same.
Immediately after finishing the recording of their first album, The Stolen Instruments dove right into the songwriting process once again. With experience comes knowledge, and knowing their previous limitations, the band was able to push their boundaries and progress their sound. The reintroduction of the cello into the mix, along with Martinez and Stakelin’s songwriting, paired with vocal harmonies and lush arrangements, this album keeps the unmistakable Stolen Instruments sound whilst taking a sonic leap forward.
The album was recorded at the Basement Studio @ KRCX, 93.9 radio, Denver, CO, located at Regis University.
