Details:
Fidelis was formed in 1996 by three high school kids in Santa Cruz, California. Scott and Moses had played previously in a local punk band, The Invisibles. Moses was also previously in Black Label. Kyle, Moses, and Scott met at Soquel High School one day and decided to get together and see what would happen. Each member had a different music style, which drew together in a strange chaotic blend; some hardcore, splashed with punk, a little bit of jazz, and good ol'' rock and roll. They started playing shows and soon recorded their first material and released a tape of 11 tracks, referred to as "the red tape". Fidelis only lasted for a about a year, and during that time wrote roughly 30 songs. Right before breaking up they went into the studio and recorded every song they could in roughly 2 days. Their intent was to go back in and finish up the songs, but that never ended up happening, and they all went their seperate ways soon after recording. The mostly unfinished material ended up being released as De Nuevo, which sounded like a very, very rough, unfinshed demo (it was). Years later, Kyle decided to digitally transfer the De Nuevo recordings and he started editing the songs. Not all the songs were salvageable as they were not more than mere scratch tracks and blown out audio. The end result is the 11 tracks presented here.

Moses went on to be in Look Back and Laugh, California Love, and Drain the Sky. Scott''s later bands include Zdrastvootie, and the The Underscore Orkestra. Kyle fiddles around with a silly pirate themed one man band, Carronade.

Thanks goes out to Francisco and Joel at Studio G in Brooklyn, NY for the digital transfer. Preston Boebel at Clear Lake Audio in Burbank, CA for final mixing and mastering.
