Tory''s first introduction in music was at the age of five taking piano lessons, and pretty soon by the age of 11 she began improvising while playing classical piano pieces (much to the dismay of her piano teacher). She grew up with her father''s love for classic rock, including artists such as Foreigner, the Who, and Led Zeppelin, which would later come to influence her original music. Her all time favorite was the 70s rock group Heart, which inspired her to begin singing.

In the eighth grade she picked up the electric guitar, a late 70s Japanese Ibanez Studio Electric, which she cherishes and still plays today. At 15 she was lead singer and guitarist in a short-lived cover band which played the Houston ice house scene. She became heavily involved in musical theater and was even nominated for a Tommy Tune Award (the Tonys for highschool theater).

In her late teens she was introduced to the music of Yes and Adrian Legg, which inspired her to pick up the acoustic guitar. She had found her true element.

In 2007 she moved to Austin, TX to attend the University of Texas. She delved deeper into writing her only solo acoustic music and thrived in Austin’s creative and music-centric atmosphere. Tory’s music could be described as “acoustic rock meets Pat Benatar meets Sarah McLachlan.” Her enthusiasm for exploring moods and musical styles is evident by the variety of musical genres she explores, from the hard hitting Heart-esque "Control Freak" to the feel good "Somewhere Good" to the fun and eclectic "The Little Tramp" (a song about Charlie Chaplin).

Currently Tory is living in Austin, TX and tours around TX. She recently returned from a California tour, where she played at venues such as House of Blues, Beachfire, and Room 5. She is has played shows in TX venues such as MOMOS, Flipnotics, Hole in the Wall, Wine Styles, Café Europe, Alligator’s Grill, among numerous other coffee shops and private gigs. She is currently working on her full length album, which should be out Spring 2011!!!
