Kim Schaefer is a 21 year old folk pop-rock artist from Chicago. Combining a powerful voice, angelic falsetto, and unapologetic acoustic guitar strumming, Kim creates a sound that is uniquely hers. While having been compared vocally to such strong female vocalists as Natalie Merchant and Alanis Morrisette, Kim counts artists such as Brandi Carlile, the Indigo Girls, Eisley, and Elliott Smith (among many others) as her influences.
Not only is her voice an instrument to be reckoned with, Kim Schaefer is a very talented song writer. With an acute ear for catchy melodies and a Mary Ford-esque ability to harmonize with herself, Kim creates songs you’re sure to sing to yourself in the shower. Kim recently recorded and released her debut EP Holy Roller. The album is a collection of folk, country, bluegrass and pop influenced rock songs with subjects ranging from shotgun weddings to murder to love.
