Joe Tosolt is a Pennsylvania-based musician and songwriter. He crosses between various styles (rock, folk, blues, americana), often mixing styles within the same song. Lyrics range from personal to historical, often written with a slight satiric bite.
A multi-instrumentalist, Tosolt plays dobro, guitar, keyboards and bass on the album Captain Bob''s Guitar. He is joined by talented guitarist and mandolinist Joe Cigan. Recorded in the fall of 2010, the album explores American roots music with lyrics musing on the American experience.
Tosolt performed throughout the 1990’s as a founding member of Philadelphia-based jam/prog/soul band 5000 Deep, which released two albums, Brown Rice and 5000 Deep. In the early 2000’s he played with New York City-based Chillum, a popular roots act which released Live At The Village Underground.
