Details:
Jonathan McQuitty is a singer/songwriter hailing from Dallas, Texas. Though he wishes he could say he grew up riding horses on Pa''s ranch, he can''t. In fact, no one in his family even owns a ranch. Because of this depravation of southern stereotypes, he picked up a guitar to pass the time. Shortly thereafter, though still completely incompetent in the ways of guitar playing, Jonathan started a band called Midweek with three of his best friends. This began as an excuse to hang out and make noise and then turned into something that was really special. Midweek stayed together for six years and they played at all of the Dallas clubs that they could. When Jonathan graduated high school, he moved across the country to Savannah, Georgia where he attended The Savannah College of Art and Design. While this meant the end of Midweek, it was the beginning of something new. Jonathan started writing and playing music at local coffee shops. With no band to accompany him, the songs naturally took on a new sound. Having been influenced by artists such as Damien Rice and Bon Iver, the rock sound he had known in Midweek settled down into an easy listening folk rock direction.

Two and a half years into his time in Savannah, Jonathan''s father was diagnosed with late stage colon cancer. This alone sparked the writing of his first album, The Halcyon Days. This also eventually led him to move closer to home. He now lives in Norman, Oklahoma and is finishing his degree in Visual Communications at The University of Oklahoma.

A WORD FROM JONATHAN

I just want let you know how much I appreciate your support. If you buy my album, I truly hope you enjoy it and are blessed by it. These songs are very dear to me and were written during some interesting times in my life. God does funny things through even funnier things, and in some cases they make for good tunes. I feel like that''s the case here, but I''ll let you be the judge. Thanks again.
