Details:
From Latin guitar to mystical and serene compositions, musician and composer Mark Bolton performs and writes music outside traditional boundaries.     Being partly self-taught creates that advantage.  As an emerging recording artist and film composer, Mark’s skills as an engineer in his studio are solid too.

Mark began playing the guitar at four years of age taught by his mother, then his cousin got him started on the drum set at six .  By the age of twelve Mark was writing music and hasn''t stopped since.  Paying close attention in music class, Mark''s reading skills developed quickly and he  soon  joined the school orchestra playing cello for two years.

The passing years have seen Mark’s musical evolution range from guitarist (Plan A, Superhuman, Bio-Encrypt), drummer (Two Lanes Wide), to composing music for film (Greiflims “681-0638” Mark’s first feature film score and  “Lucky or Not” his most recent).

Mark has also written music for a belly dancing choreography video for Dreamweaver studios "Saucy Veil". Mark''s 2006 CD release, Surrender, is a journey through relaxation using the body''s frequencies to calm the listener.

Mark’s most recent work, Shut Up and Drive, is an instrumental guitar roller coaster. With some of his quirky songs like “The Wave and The Rat” and “Eleven Smells” you will be taken away by their sonic journeys, and then rocked right off your seat with the guitar playing on “Who Said What?”.

Mark Bolton belongs to SOCAN and is a voting member of the Guild of Canadian Film Composers.
