Eighteen of GRCA’s affiliated camps submitted songs from their 2010 camp sessions for this compilation. Each camp is run independently and every camp has a different set-up. Some of these songs are from camps with recording programs, some were recorded from the sound-board at a showcase and others were recorded on a loving parent’s cellphone.
Most GRCA rock camps serve girls somewhere between the ages of 8 and 18. All of the songs on this compilation are original songs composed, written and performed by campers, many of whom have picked up an instrument for the first time the week before this song was recorded.
Proceeds from the sale of these songs will go directly to supporting GRCA’s mission, mainly bringing camp organizers from all over the world to an annual conference where we provide training and networking opportunities fo our many and varied camp leaders.
The Girls Rock Camp Alliance would like to thank Radio Sloan for collecting and mastering the songs, Molly Gove for managing and executing this project and for creating the text and artwork.
