Details:
Gabrahm Vitek took his first breath seventeen minutes after Christmas in 1986. The first eighteen years of life were spent in and around the small town and “candy cane capitol” Bryan, Ohio.
Gabrahm discovered his talent in music before learning to walk. Some of the earliest documentation of his life portrays Gabrahm sitting with his father, Gerry Vitek, strumming guitars and singing “Blue Swade Shoes”. Gabrahm attributes much of his music aspirations to the encouragement of his father who was also a performer in the 1970’s sharing the stage with acts like “Chicago”, “America”, and “Loretta Lynn”.
Gabrahm decided to take on music professionally as he enrolled at Belmont University as a dual percussion and piano principle. In 2007 Gabrahm formulated his first band, “Gabe Vitek and the Ivory”. Later that year he recorded his first EP with the band self entitled, “Gabe Vitek and the Ivory”. “The EP was thrown together in a living room, but was well received” said Vitek in an interview with the Vanderbilt Hustler. The first EP received references ranging from “Pink Floyd” to “Something Corporate” Gabrahm would tour on the EP for a year while writing material for “Voices”, his first LP released in 2008.
“Voices” received radio airplay in cities like Nashville and Knoxville, Tennessee, Atlanta, Georgia, as well as Columbus and Toledo, Ohio. Gabrahm toured throught 2009 playing fraternatity events, college festivals, and Red Gorilla Festival in Austin Texas. During the tour in 2009 Gabrahm shared the Stage with acts like Jon McLaughlin, Cartel, and Matt Nathanson.
“Voices” was a mark of maturity for Vitek as he seemed to be creating a commercial genre that contained a bit more edge, intricacy, honesty, and reality. In 2010 Gabrahm Vitek intends on taking another big step in his career with the release of “Soular Flares”. “Soular Flares” will be the debute release under the name Gabrahm Vitek. The record is highly anticipated and is expected to shine with elements of Roots Rock, and Motown. The record will feature screaming horns, and soul filled background singers. Look for Gabrahm Vitek to hit hard on the music radar in 2010.
