A.D. 30 is currently a studio Christian Rock Band based in Waynesboro, Virginia. We are presently composed of bassist/lead guitarist, Dave Laraway and drummer Kevin Lawhorne. We have enlisted the talent of two local vocalists, Deanna Simmers and Bart Lawhorne as the voices of A.D. 30 for the "Believe" album. Musically, A.D. 30 is heavily influenced by 1980''s hard rock. Our sound has been compared to that of Third Day, Decemberadio, Pat Benatar and Sugarland, among others.
God never ceases to amaze us, and show how awesome He truly is! We give all the credit to God for the foundation of A.D. 30 and the "Believe" album. He has given us our musical talents, and we want to use them for His glory.
Our journey in the Christian music industry began while we were playing with Eternal Fix, another Christian Rock Band based in Harrisonburg, Virginia. In March of 2009, Eternal Fix was blessed with the opportunity to perform at Edge Fest and open for Red Umbrella and Day of Fire. Unfortunately, in June of 2009, Eternal Fix disbanded. With a strong desire to play music for the Lord, we (Dave and Kevin) started working together one night to write a song. This one song led to more than we ever could''ve imagined! With God''s blessing and an abundance of music and lyrics, A.D. 30 was born!
In addition to blessing us with music and lyrics, God has provided us with a professional project studio named Piercing Light Recordings to record our first album. With the passion in our hearts and the guidance of God''s Word, we are doing all we can to further His kingdom through our music ministry.
The pastor of the church we attend has said many things that have touched our hearts. However, there are two quotes that remain on our song board. First, "If it''s God''s will, it''s God''s bill", and second, "Team work makes the Dream work".
A.D. 30 has come in contact with many people during the recording of this album and we have seen Our Savior at work through this. It is a wonderful sight to see people touched by the lyrics and have God pull at their hearts. Our prayer for you is that you are filled with the Spirit while listening to our music and that you will develop a personal relationship with Our Savior Jesus Christ.
