In early 2004 Fiveefeet:Perspectives approached Dub-L with an idea for a project to put together an EP, a 6-song compilation of some of newer rhyme material. 6 tracks in 3 sessions. The chemistry was instantaneous. They had a very similar approach when recording. It was really no nonsense. Dub-L was always prepared, knew the technical’s cold, while Fivefeet had the rhymes to match. Most often, it was one take recording, which was more a testament to the vibe as it was to their skill levels. After pressing up The Mini Album and circulated it to friends and future fans, they received lot of positive feedback, so much so completing a full length album was inevitable. Inspired by none other then Bob Marley, Iron Heart Lion Eyes was born.
The debut album from Fivefeet:Perspectives, Iron Heart Lion Eyes, captured a time and place for Fivefeet:Perspectives. Making an album on this level had always been a goal. The album was the culmination of years of writing, listening and introspection.
With guest appearances from Chase Phoenix, MF Grimm and cuts and scratches by DJ JS-1, Iron Hear Lion Eyes is an album for more then just Hip Hop aficionados. It offers bountiful beats, soulful lyrics and a unique perspective and approach to Hip Hop and music alike.
And so was born…Fivefeet:Perspectives.
