Poverty Park formed in 1990. Later that year they released their debut, "Poverty In The Park". In 1991 Poverty Park released "Ground Zero". The band wouldn''t release another full length album until 1997. When the band released the album "Now A Days". However the band released several 2-3 song singles. In between "Ground Zero", and "Now A Days". The band spilt up in 1997. After the death of guitarist Steve Muma. Poverty Park played their last show. With the original line up. On September 7th 1997. But members J.B.(vocals/guitars), and Jayson(drums) would occationally reunite and perform at several jam sessions. In 2005 remaing members J.B. and Jayson Hopson joined by bassist Damien Detris. Formerly of the band Beloved Betrayal. Damien became the bands first full time bassist (which makes him our original bassist).. To bring Poverty Park back as an internet project. They released the 5 song EP Heros. The guys had plans on bringing the band back. As a full scale live band. Which came to pass. Not long after the Heros release. When the guys did a jam session tour. Poverty Park is also proud to announce that the "Heros EP" earned the band a 2005 IMMIE Nomination. . As of 2006 J.B, and Jayson Hopson regrouped. For another P.P collaberation. A two volume live set titled "Last Rites". Volume One was released in 2006. With Volume Two following suite in 2007. The track "Death Before Dishonor" gave the band their first Top40 (sub-genre) hit on the "Heavy Metal" Charts. On https://www.tradebit.com. With "Death Before Dishonor". Breaking the Top20. Peaking at 11. The Last Rites cds. Also gave Poverty Park their first 2 bonified hits. With Thief Of Time, being given the status of "A Soundclick Top100 Song", and Death Before Dishonor being named "A Soundclick Top50 Song". As of June 15th 2008. Poverty Park (J.B., Jayson, and Damien) has released an all new full length studio cd. The first since 1997. The cd is titled As American As... But later that year the band suffer a tragic loss. When Poverty Park drummer Jayson Hopson. Surcumbed to a brain illness. Just before the release of the bands cd, Hotel Hell. In 2009, the band released a compilation cd, titled Demos, Jams, and Live S--t. Which focased on the bands original line-up. As of 2010. Poverty Park is back on the rise. J.B and former bassist turned producer, Damien D. Will be teaming up to put together, Demos, Jams, and Other S--t. Which will feature the band''s music through the early 2000''s. As of 2011, Poverty Park will be releasing their self-titled cd. Through the distributor CdBaby. They will be releasing the cd. One single at a time..
