I became interested in music as I listened to my foster mother sing spirituals around the house. As I listened to her I always felt happy. I began singing at the tender age of five at church, where I wanted to create that same feeling in others. I remained in the gospel choir at church for many years where I performed with a wide variety local gospel groups. As I began taking singing more seriously I auditioned for The School for Creative and Performing Arts, and was accepted, majoring in Vocal Music.

Growing up in Cincinnati, Ohio has allowed me to grow musically in all genres. I’ve also been able to travel to places such as Long Island, New York, where I met The Sherelle''s, made famous for their songs "One Fine Day" and "Soldier Boy". This meeting was made possible because I had the honor of performing with one of Cincinnati''s own great entertainers, Mr. Richard Johnson. Richard was the bass voice in the 1950 group called The Students, made famous for their hit songs "Everyday of the Week" and "So Young”. He is currently entertaining with his own group, Ritchie and the Students. I also shared the stage with “Daughter of the Blues" Shirley King in Chicago, Illinois and at Stevie Rays in Louisville Kentucky. It’s been an incredible experience meeting so many wonderful performers.

I have come full circle at this point, and am writing original songs, recording CD''s and performing at different venues throughout the tri-state area with my own band, IIJUICY. We have only been together for a little over a year, and what a year it''s been. On May 21, 2006 we won the 2006 Cincinnati Blues Challenge and we are going to represent Cincinnati Ohio in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee.

Keep your eyes and ears open! I was once told by very concerned doctors after a severe car accident that I would never be able to speak clearly again, much less than be able to ever sing again. Well, there was another plan in store for me, which is to sing my way into your hearts and minds. Long live The Blues!
