Details:
Mysterious was born Uchenna Hackett to parents Hugh Hackett and Cynthia Hackett on June 3rd 1976 in the city of St. Joseph, Trinidad WI. As a youth mysterious started “chanting” Reggae music on the streets of Malabar, with other youths in the district. He performed in a couple local talent competition, was encouraged by his friends and peers in the community and so started writing and perfecting his art form. His major influences included Shadow, David Rudder, Bob Marley, Luciano, Super Cat, Ninja Man, Buju Banton and many others. Though a big supporter of calypso, Rapso and Soca music, Mysterious writing inspiration came from roots rock reggae music.

Mysterious was first introduced to a recording studio in 1992 by Ital D, a popular radio DJ at the time. The crew of then artiste included, Bunji Garlin, Benji, Three sons, JD, Scare face and others. The artiste later worked with various producers and fused Reggae, with Soca which propelled them into Ragga Soca stardom. At the time mysterious was known as “Chenapo”, a nick name that was given to him as a youth.

Mysterious later worked as a project manager and co- producer with Tiba and his label “Black Star Original” which produced over thirty artistes. The label focused on creating an original Trinidad brand of reggae music and encouraged artiste to sing reggae with a local accent. Though the label didn’t produce any hits at the time, Mysterious grew tremendously during the time and developed his production and song writing skills.

He wrote over one hundred songs and produced over fifty original tracks. The name mysterious, which took two days and much collaboration, was given to him by Tiba, who thought that was the best way to describe the singers music and overall vibration. Money, or a lack of it, made it impossible for Mysterious to continue the seven day a week, twelve hour a day commitment to the group and he promised the next time he approached music, money would not be a deterrent.

He decided to get into technology and started an internet café to earn the cash needed to survive and later launch his own record label. Though very difficult to stop music entirely to focus on his new venture CONNECT Ltd, mysterious had no other choice since the company demanded all of the singer’s time. He knew that the time would come when his business would allow him to follow his dream of singing and producing original music. The concept Freedom Records was born, and the artiste later changed the name to “Chuphshah Entertainment”, Chuphshah being the Hebrew word for freedom.

Seven years and many blessing later mysterious had surpassed his business goals set out and was introduced to T-dread by a friend and fellow artiste Nacha. T- Dread, a Jamaican artiste, who also has his label Tripple Platinum, encouraged the singer to focus on the music a little sooner than expected. Mysterious first professional recording in five years was on the famous Bob Marley “Soul Rebel Riddim”, which was re-produced by T-Dread and was recently released in Jamaica . Today Chuphshah, Tripple platinum, and Terrelonge Recordings work as partner labels.

Mysterious later made the long anticipated trip to the land of reggae and started re-producing his “old music productions” in collaboration with top Jamaican Artiste, musicians and producers. With a new outlook on music and his life, Mysterious is now working on his first Album tilted “This feeling”. This long anticipated album features original lyrics and music inspired over the last decade by true life experiences.
