Details:
Minneapolis presents the debut album by the Street King himself... Monk. As this release was pushed back to Spring of 2005, the anticipation only got stronger. With a local buzz in the Twin Cities area, Monk is setting himself up to drop the club anthem of the summer with the track "Jump Up". While initially available through online distributors, the album will be distributed in local stores on May 10, 2005. Below is a brief biography of the artist as well as track listing information.

Simpson Bradley IV a.k.a. Monk, was born with the lyrical gift of a God. Blessed with witty charm and charismatic delivery, Monk delivers on all points of hip-hop greatness. Even at a young age, Monk knew his mission in life was to create a masterpiece. Being one of the few Minneapolis based rap artists on the scene, Monk knew that whatever he did had to be original and groundbreaking.

Monk began rapping at the young age of 10 for family and friends and the dinner table as a way to gain attention. By the time Monk reached age 18 he had released his first CD entitled "My Dope''s My Music". He also began performing at various shows and promoting his career. In the first three months of the initial release "My Dope''s My Music" sold around 1,500 copies.

When Monk reached age 20 he began recording his second album entitled "About Face". The second album shook up the streets at the initial release and shined a little light on a promising career in music. Within the first three months approximately 2,800 copies were sold at concerts and through "street marketing" methods.

Monk''s newest project entitled "Writer''s Block" focuses on the everyday struggle in dealing with being true the streets that he grew up in and the commercialism in the music industry. Monk intends to bring his own brand of "street pop" to the masses with a variety of tracks demonstrating his lyrical prowess in addition to top-notch production by producer Rud''e Martin. Rud''e Martin is currently working with various members of the group B2K as well as other related endeavors.

The first single off the album "Writer''s Block" entitled "Jump Up" is poising itself to become the summer anthem of 2005. The "club banger", as proclaimed by industry insiders, has shaken up the club scene as well as given Monk the chance to show his versatility not only as a talented entertainer but as an underground legend.
