Details:
"Letters to a Friend" is my follow-up album since the releases of "Pretend Dreams:Meeting". These compositions are more solo guitar with accompaniment by producer David Chu. Between the recording and the release of "Pretend Dreams:Meeting" my family of four relocated from Tempe, Arizona to Vancouver, Washington. In August 1990 I flew David up to engineer the recording of the guitar tracks for "Letters to a Friend". About a month later David took the raw tracks back to Arizona. David wrote all the arrangements and engineered the recording for the rest of the project to the finished CD. Truly a great undertaking. This was the summer of 1990. "Letters to a Friend" was released in March of 1991. On "Letters"... David plays the flute, acoustic piano, kettle drums and synth: Michael Coleman plays log drums, triangle & wind chimes: Nancy Clauter plays obeo and English horn: Blythe Tretick plays cello. Both Nancy and Blythe are from the Phoenix Symphony Orchestra. I started getting airplay right away from the local #1 radio station KINK 102fm.
