MP3 Mike and Erin McNamara - The Kaleidoscope Project

Old School Soul plus Acoustic plus Contemporary R&B

3 MP3 Songs
URBAN/R&B: Soul, URBAN/R&B: R&B Pop Crossover

Details:
Mike and Erin McNamara. Father and daughter. Two voices. Worlds apart with some crucial elements in common. Feel. Expression. Quality.

Mike is Old School Soul. Antediluvian soul. Sam Cooke, Wilson Pickett, Levi Stubbs, Little Richard style Soul. Erin, at 16, is contemporary R&B. Beyonce Knowles, Alicia Keyes, Mariah Carey, India Arie. But!... With a great sense of Soul’s distant history. Passed down. Aretha, Mahalia, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, James Brown. All those seminal Gospel pioneers too, who made Soul’s painful, bloody birth possible.

Betwixt these two poles we’ve sandwiched a straight singer/songwriter take of the first track. A stripped down acoustic version that communicates man to man with the listener, soul to soul. Devoid of the tinkling aural trinkets of over production and superfluous instrumental stacking.

Erin. Tiny. Precocious. Gifted. Singer. Dancer. Songwriter . Performer. Already causing a stir and attracting major management interest. With enough material to swamp a stunning debut album. Taking the time out to contribute to The Project. Her facile vocal winds around her instantly appealing melody and speaks of self-respect, self-esteem, worthiness, uniqueness. It talks of celebrating being a one-off self. A me. Now.

Mike. Lead singer with ever popular and much travelled retro Soul outfit Big Mac’s Wholly Soul Band. A seasoned contender who has paid his dues on a thousand sweat-soaked one night stands. From Soho to Cairo. Germany, Tenerife, Dublin, Scotland and all across the U.K. He has penned a classic Southern Soul tune especially for The Project. An ex-user himself he has drawn on personal experience to reach out to his fellow sufferers.

The Kaleidoscope Project. A U.K. based project that helps those suffering from drug addiction. Established in 1969 and with drop in centres in both London and South Wales it has managed to turn the lives around for thousands of those dependant on various substances.

Hundreds of these cd’s have already been sold. To clients and Joe Public alike. At various gigs and get togethers across the country.
Local reviews have been ecstatic. T/v interviews and radio chat shows have all contributed to spreading the word and ultimately helping those most in need.
Great voices. Great songs. Great message. Great value.
‘Great Gosh Almighty!’ hollered Little Richard Penniman, ‘…it’s been a long time coming!
