REVIEWS: (more on Miller''s website - https://www.tradebit.com)
"By all accounts, A Very Good Night, which was inspired by Miller''s cabaret appearances, is a very good cd. Great performances and arrangements all serve to underscore Maci''s outstanding vocal performances, and her versatile voice ranges from whispery, a la Marilyn, to poignant and yearning, a la Lady Day, to clear and elegant as fine crystal, a la Ella. It would be impressive enough if she were merely performing and interpreting the witty songs and sophisticated ballads on the cd, but it turns out that she wrote them as well. From the playful "Red Hot Dirty Dame" to the gorgeously constructed "My Sad Song," the songwriting is imaginative and skillful. Way to go, Maci - along with the sleek photographs and glamourous image, there is clearly good old fashioned hard work and commitment to your unique vision." Carol Allen, The Whoot, Atlantic City, NJ

"Beautiful songstress Maci Miller offers up 10 original diamond gems. Lush orchestrations and sultry vocals. Real big band backing that swings. This albums spells hot romance and enchantment. A Very Good Night indeed!" Bo Lewis, Big Band Dance Party (https://www.tradebit.com)

" What jaded listeners might not want to hear is yet another torch singer trying to cash in on the Swing Era retro-craze. But what they get with Maci Miller is something more thatn they bargained for. She actually wrote all the words and music for the swing and blues songs on "A Very Good Night", her debut disc, and sings them with an appeal and passion that makes them peerfect pastry for presen-day musical palates. Sure, the Pennsylvania native has traces in her style of some of the great singers she idolizes - Billie and Ella and Nancy and Dinah - but there is something unique here, too. On "Love Ain''t Part of that Game" for instance, she stretches the paean to love into an anthem against stereotyping and prejudice. "Champagne" bubbles with innocence and Marilyn Monroe-esque allure. "My Sad Song" catches with its throaty inflections a dark and deep heartache that''s timeless. While "Red Hot Dirty Dame" seems torridly excessive at first, it winds up with a caustic jab ("Crazy man, you could have had me instead!") at the guy who falls for the wrong kind of girl. And the title track reminds that with the right devotion (such as Miller''s own) anyone can succeed. That attitude, coupled with Miller''s good voice, polished delivery and vivaciousness, can give 40''s fans hope for the future of the past." Dave Gaskill, The Morning Call, Allentown, PA
