Details:
Gospel music is an art form that captures not only the emotions but speaks to the spiritual condition of its listener and brings forth victory. Many artists have tried but only one has mastered the delicate balance between artistic performance and sincere ministry. That artist is none other than the multi-talented singer, entertainer and preacher, Marius Scott.

Marius was born and raised in Memphis TN, the Home of the Blues and the birthplace of “Elvis”. At the young age of 13 unaware of his God given talent, Marius was a singing sensation waiting to emerge. When his grandmother realized his vocal ability, she immediately encouraged him to join his church and high school choirs. He got his start at St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church where he sang alongside Shaun Pace Rhodes and Dottie Peoples.

In the summer of 1994, he transitioned to a new church home at Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church and became a pinnacle part of the youth and music ministry. Under the direction of Ministers of Music, Dr. Leo Davis and Keenan Shotwell, Marius
sang many heart filled solos with the praise team opening for Cece Winans and Yolanda Adams. He traveled to Washington, D.C. and sang for President Bill Clinton in the White House. After graduating from high school, Marius was discovered by Mr. Art Gilliam of Gilliam Music Inc. and was signed to his first record deal. He released a single entitled “You’ll never walk alone” which achieved local success. In 1997, he was the featured artist alongside Grammy winner Memphian O’landa Draper and the Associates at the WLOK 1340 AM’s 20th Anniversary program. He has traveled abroad ministering in Jamaica with Global Missions and to South Africa with The Campus Crusade for Christ. At the University of Johannesburg, he shared the gospel in song and through the power of Christ over 250 adults and children was saved. Marius was ordained a minister from Church of the Word and Praise in 1999, and later transitioned to New Direction Christian Church where he became praise team leader. When Hallelujah FM 95.7’s DJ, Michael Adrian Davis, threw his Annual Birthday Bash in 2003, Marius opened for him alongside William Murphy, Smokie Norful, and Tonex. In 2004, he led praise and worship at Temple of Deliverance for the National Church of God in Christ Convocation. He also performed at Disneyland’s 2005 “Save the Children Celebration”.In June 2006 Marius opened for national gospel recording artist J-Moss and gospel Urban trio 21:03 at the lovely Cannon Center in Memphis,TN.

After much success and the close of his contract with Gilliam Inc., Marius signed a new contract with Memphis based LEPO Entertainment which released his sophomore album “Turn it Over to the Lord” in April 2006. This high energy album is appealing to the heart of the seasoned saint as well as the new believer with a certifiable guarantee of spiritually exuding inspiration for the heart and soul. Marius Scott is a fresh wind and fresh fire for the Gospel Music Industry.
