Journey was recorded in the late spring of 1996, during one of the toughest periods of my life.
I was struggling to pay rent, and felt very alone in the city of Austin, Texas.
In times of despair, or loneliness, music has always been a wonderful source of comfort to me, having great abilities to transform pain, and bring joy.
This CD project enabled me to move out of my difficult period into one of prosperity and happiness, and even today, I love the way each track flows into the next, truly creating the sense of a journey.
My impression is that this is mostly a night time CD, having the quality of a dialog between two lovers, bearing their souls to each other.
It is my hope that the music can help bring comfort and joy in your life.
**BIO**
Glenn Naftchi is an award-winning pianist and composer who has studied both Classical and Jazz piano. He began his training at the age of seven and continued his studies at New York University, working on his Masters of Music degree. Glenn''s composition, Texas, won the Austin Songwriter''s Competition in 2000, and Sovereign Vibrations receieved Honorable Mention in the Jon Lennon Songwriter''s Competition in the World Music Category in 2002. He has had the opportunity to perform as a soloist, in chamber music, as well as in jazz combos throughout the United States and abroad, including Fiji, Hawaii, New York, Texas and California. Glenn''s creativity can be heard in his performances as well as in his compositions.
