Details:
With over 800 performances under his belt, and 20,000 records sold, 25-year-old singer/songwriter Nate Schierman gives audiences a live performance that is passionate, deep, and intense. The self-taught acoustic piano vocalist from the Inland Northwest was signed to Seattles Innovative Records in 2003, just three weeks after performing his first show as an artist. One month after being signed, Schierman and his band met with producer Donn Devore (whos credits include Evanescence, Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell, Death Cab for Cutie, Audioslave, and Blues Traveler) to record a 4-song demo. Devore has called Schierman one of the best songwriters of our time. Instead of a demo, however, 12 tracks came together with ease, and his first full-length album, Trading Scars, was born and released on September 9th, 2003. Schierman and his band were sent on tour, picking up an incredible fan base throughout Washington, Idaho, California, Florida, Arizona, and New York. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Listeners began calling their local radio stations requesting songs from Trading Scars, and soon 50 college radio stations, 125 mainstream stations, and hundreds of internet radio stations across the United States were playing Schiermans music. As a result, he was nominated for numerous awards, claiming seven Internet Radio awards and two Artist of the Year titles. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- In August 2004, Schierman released Inspire EP, which included live tracks of his most requested songs, along with remixes and new material. He again went on tour, selling records and changing lives along the way. https://www.tradebit.com, an Internet radio site with a strong national influence, caught wind of the music, and his songs Sweet Nothings, Mirror Mirror, and Making Memories gained instant success. All three songs spent more than 38 weeks at Cornerbands Top 10 List in 2004/2005. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Schierman has toured with and shared stages with such names as Dave Matthews Band, Vertical Horizon, Tal Bachman, Presidents of the United States of America, Mat Kearney, and christian sensation Paul Wright. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An artist deemed Most Likely to Sell It by the Spokesman Review, and described as ambitious, innovative, [and] electrifying by the Sacramento News and Review, Schiermans song Desperately Wanting was featured on NBCs hit television show, So You Think You Can Dance? He also landed a song for an upcoming major motion picture soundtrack, Stuck in Neutral, to be released in Summer 2007. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- By 2006, Schierman felt that he had outgrown Trading Scars and Inspire. He began to represent himself, producing albums for three other artists. Deciding it was time to get back in the studio, and no longer under the time constraints of a label, he locked himself away for two months. Teaming up with Producer Eddie Ramirez, Nate merged the man and the musician, and The Fine Print Upfront was the result, released in April 2006. Taking the less is more approach, Fine Print comes closest to how Schierman sounds live. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Fans enjoy Schierman because he produces a unique show. His ability to loop crazy beats and synthesized sounds on the keyboard, while simultaneously looping sounds from his acoustic guitar, captivate fans of all ages and gender, though he has a large college-age female audience. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I want to be as different as possible, says Schierman. However, everyone is saying the same thing. Its how you say it thats different. How you play it. Its not about the glamour. Its about that one person at the show that is hungry and thirsty for what can be fulfilled in them by my music I play deeper, and dig deeper spiritually. Schiermans ambition and passion collide with an insane natural talent, making the Schierman Show one that shouldnt be missed.
