The O''Byrnes make music, a bond that has tied this family together from the beginning. Mike and Terry, themselves musicians from childhood, always made sure that musical instruments were left conveniently laying around the house to be picked up and played by their children. After siblings Ryan and Candice both came out playing and singing in 2003, it was clear - it was time to form a family band and pursue their lifelong love and ambition.
They spent 2005 touring the US, playing many of the country''s greatest live music venues, including the main stage of the Philly Folk Festival, The Birchmere, Jorma''s Fur Peace Ranch, Mass MOCA, The Keswick Theater, The Count Basie Theater, the IMAC in Long Island, The Ramshead, and the Belcourt Theater in Nashville. In January of 2006 the family pulled up stakes and relocated to Houston, opting to make the famous Texas music community their home base, and officially formed The O''Byrnes. Their debut CD, "Now and Then", showcasing the band''s powerful vocals and songwriting talents, was released May 15, 2006. They are currently scheduling tour dates in support of their new CD, which is receiving impressive reviews and radio airplay.
The O''Byrnes is anything but a typical family band. Every member contributes something musically individual, unique and unsuppressed - the result is an amazing genre-bending collection of original music that all can appreciate.
